Rogue Guide – A Quick and Simple Guide for WoW Rogues

This rogue guide will show you what’s important when leveling a rogue and what most players get wrong about this great damage dealing class.

Rogues are extremely powerful. But only when you know how to use them.

With a rogue, every little detail about your character counts – from talent build to the perfect equipment.
This brief guide will give you a good overview and a starting point. If you want more in-depth information, I recommend you check out professional leveling guides. It’s possible for you to have your level 80 rogue within 7 days or less.

Rogue Talents

Rogues are damage dealers. Meaning, they are a class designed to shelve out as much damage as humanly possible within the shortest amount of time. But since the whole class was designed with that idea in mind, many players are not sure about which talent tree they should really focus on.

My personal opinion is that you should focus on the combat tree for consistent damage through-put. That means you will depend more on fast attack speed (Slice and Dice) than a high crit. chance. You can get +crit. talents like Malice later on.

Get talents such as Dual Wield Specialization and Precision first. When you can, get Adrenaline Rush and Blade Flurry to kill many enemies simultaneously.

Get Vitality to maximize the longevity of your rogue – otherwise you’ll be a push over in the later stages of the game.

Then, go from there. :) If you get a feel for the tree, you can also look into many of the clever talent builds many players came up with.

Rogue Gear

By increasing your damage, you ultimately increase the speed of your XP gain. Focus on equipment that boosts your agility. This increases your overall attack power and your crit chances. Get as much agility as possible and don’t compromise as long as you’re still leveling up your rogue.

Put the slower weapon in your main hand and a very fast one into the off-hand.

Where To Go From Here

Again, leveling your rogue comes down to increasing your damage output by focusing on the combat tree and maximizing your Agility with the right equipment. Rogues aren’t that hard once you grasp those two simple concepts.

Anything else doesn’t matter and is just distraction.

I hope you enjoyed this short little rogue guide.
