Leveling a Troll Rogue? Trolls make fine Rogues and allow some pretty effective class / race / profession combinations. This Troll Rogue leveling guide will show you some tricks that will make leveling your Rogue twink easier.
Racial abilities
- Berserking: “Activate to increase attack and casting speed by 20% for 10 seconds. 3 minute cooldown.”
- Regeneration: “Health regeneration increased by 10%. 10% of total Health regeneration may continue during combat.“
- Beast Slaying: “Damage dealt versus Beasts increased by 5%.“
- Throwing Weapon Specialization: “Your chance to critically hit with Throwing Weapons is increased by 1%.”
- Bow Specialization: “Your chance to critically hit with Bows is increased by 1%. “
- Da Voodoo Shuffle: “Reduces the duration of all movement impairing effects by 15%. Trolls be flippin’ out mon!”
The main feature of a Troll Rogue is the “Berserking” and “Beast Slaying” racial ability. When you compare the Trolls “Berserking” to the Orcs’ “Blood Fury” it seems that the Troll has a slight disadvantage. But Trolls get a boost that always has the same percentage while the Orcs’ ability has a fixed value. “Berserking” scales with your gear.
Once you manage to get a high amount of attack rating / agility, “Berserking” can become more effective than any other racial ability.
“Beast Slaying” makes you more effective against Beasts and makes the combination with a certain profession very attractive, as you will see in the next section of my Troll Rogue leveling guide.
Professions
Skinning makes a fine gathering profession for the Troll Rogue, as it creates a Synergy with “Beast Slaying”. It also gives you a passive boost to your critical strike rating – mandatory for every Rogue!
Here’s the bonus you’ll receive:

- Rank 2: Crit. rating +6, required level: 1
- Rank 3: Crit. rating +9, required level: 10
- Rank 4: Crit. rating +12, required level: 25
- Rank 5: Crit. rating +20, required level: 40
- Rank 6: Crit. rating +40, required level: 55
Conclusion
If you combine Trolls, Skinning and Leatherworking, you will get a Rogue that is able to kill off Beasts faster than any other race, gets the most benefits from the killed mobs and can create items out of the loot. Plus you get extra crit. rating!
